Melinjana
Tapestry woven by the Tuilière workshop.
With its ribbon.
Circa 1970.
Installed in Venasque after practicing his art at the Gobelins, Daniel Drouin designed many tapestries woven on high-warp looms. The variety of materials, the taste for abstraction, as well as the weaving by the designer of the pattern, respond to certain concerns of « the New Tapestry » of then, without going beyond the 2 dimensions nevertheless.
