Marchande d’illusions (Purveyor of illusions)
Aubusson tapestry woven by the Pinton workshop.
With its label.
Circa 1955.
Elie Grekoff, close to Lurçat's aesthetic, will produce more than 300 cartoons.
“Purveyor of illusions” is typical of a vein characteristic of Grekoff where melancholic children consider each other, as in a scene on a stage, redolent of an illustration for a folk tale.
