Native of the country, Henri de Jordan met Firmin Bauby in Perpignan, the founder of the San Vicens ceramics workshop. There he discovered painting on ceramics but also tapestry, through Lurçat and Picart le Doux. Our cartoon testifies to this influence: it is the work of an artist still very young and still marked by the tutelary shadow of his elders (Lurçat died in the same year 1966).
