A native of Perpignan, Henri de Jordan met Firmin Bauby, founder of the San Vicens ceramics workshop. There, he discovered ceramic painting as well as tapestry, through the works of Lurçat and Picart le Doux. Our tapestry bears witness to this influence: it is the work of a still very young artist, still marked by the tutelary shadow of his elders (Lurçat, in fact, died in that same year, 1966).
