Important protagonist of « the New Tapestry », woven by Pierre Daquin, exhibited at the La Demeure gallery in the 70s, Jacques Brachet has, from the 50s, an innovative and experimental approach to the medium, consecrated by the creation of the mural art workshop at the International Centre for Pedagogical Studies, in Sèvres, by the staging of « tapestry in France, 1945-1985, the living tradition » at the National Higher School of Fine Arts, by the design of his tapestry-actions until today.
A rare and difficult-to-observe atmospheric optical phenomenon, the green flash, if it could inspire authors (Verne) and filmmakers (Rohmer) is even rarer in the visual arts. Brachet presents a seashore landscape that takes shape and life through the use of complementary colors (red, green, mauve), small lights that mimic rocky aggregates…
