Toffoli devoted himself extensively to tapestry with the Robert Four factory, beginning in 1976, creating hundreds of designs. These tapestries showcase the post-Cubist transparencies characteristic of the painter, as well as his recurring themes. But while Toffoli is a painter who travels extensively, he also occasionally explores less exotic subjects: old stones in a French village, for example.
