Fumeron creates his first cartoons (he will produce more than 500) from the 1940s onwards, collaborating with the Pinton workshops, then receiving numerous commissions from the State, before participating in the decoration of the 'France' liner. Initially figurative and influenced by Lurçat, he evolves towards abstraction, before returning to a colourful and realistic figuration from the 1980s onwards.
Cartoon abstrait typique de l’artiste, dans une veine (et une gamme chromatique !) qui le rapproche de Borderie ou de Wogensky, et dont les réalisations de l’époque, bien qu’oubliées, n’ont rien à envier à celles de ses pairs.
