A native of the region, Henri de Jordan made, in Perpignan, the acquaintance of Firmin Bauby, who was behind the San Vicens ceramics workshop. There, he discovered ceramic painting but also tapestry, through Lurçat and Picart le Doux. Our cartoon bears witness to this influence: it is the work of an artist still very young and still marked by the tutelary shadow of his elders (Lurçat died in the same year, 1966).
