Cap d’Antibes, mistral

Aubusson tapestry woven by the Four workshop.
With label, n°EA2/2.
After an 1888 painting by the artist, kept at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

The Four workshop produced a certain number of hand-woven tapstries which depicted works of the great masters : thus Klee, Modigliani, Macke or, as here, Monet are faithfully reproduced in wool that reflects the shading and brushstrokes of the artist’s original.
