Holger was a student at the Ecole Nationale d'Art décoratif in Aubusson, and worked with Lurçat before the latter’s death in 1966. He produced many dreamlike cartoons woven in Aubusson. Now based in the United States, he remains an indefatigable advocate—and witness—of modern tapestry, organizing exhibitions and conferences on the subject.
