Lune et eau
Tapestry woven by the Münchener Gobelin Manufaktur.
Circa 1970.
Holger studied at the École Nationale d'Art décoratif in Aubusson, and worked with Lurçat before the latter's death in 1966. He produced numerous dream-like Cartoons woven in Aubusson. Based in the United States, he has remained an indefatigable advocate—and witness—of modern tapestry, organizing exhibitions and conferences on the subject.
Some of his cartoons were woven in the two active manufactories in Germany, in Nuremberg and Munich, at the Aubusson point.
