Marchande d’illusions (purveyor of illsions)

Aubusson tapestry Woven by the Pinton workshop.

Circa 1955.

Elie Grekoff, whose aesthetic is similar to that of Lurçat, designed over 300 cartons.
« Marchande d’illusions” is typical of a vein characteristic of Grekoff where melancholic children consider each other, as in a scene on a stage, redolent of an illustration for a folk tale.
