Elie Grekoff, close to the aesthetic of Lurçat, created more than 300 cartoons. The theme of foliate suns was a classic of the artist; perhaps the title alludes to a Weaver from the Atelier de Tapisserie d’Angers, which opened the same year, 1968, and where Grekoff was the first painter-cartoonist to be woven.
