Elie Grekoff, whose style was closely aligned with that of Lurçat, produced over 300 cartoons: our example illustrates the artist’s development from the 1960s onwards, with the disappearance of human and animal figures. The motif of celestial bodies (the sun, the moon) hidden behind foliage then became a recurring theme.
