The Dream Bird

Born in the country, Henri de Jordan made, in Perpignan, the acquaintance of Firmin Bauby, which led to the ceramic workshop at San Vicens. He discovered painting on ceramics there but also tapestry, through Lurçat and Picart le Doux. Our Cartoon bears witness to this influence: it is the work of an artist who was still very young, marked by the protective shadow of his elders (Lurçat died in that same year, 1966).
