Becoming a late-blooming painter-cartoonist, Henri Ilhe nevertheless designed, starting in 1964, a quite considerable Woven work (more than 120 Cartoons, all woven at Tabard) in an amiable style made of birds or butterflies frolicking in shrubs with gnarled branches.

In this respect, “Les fruits d’or” is characteristic of Ilhe’s bucolic inspiration.
