Van Vlasselaer (1907-1982) was the author of numerous monumental mural compositions, as well as stained-glass windows. From 1950 onward, he created tapestry Cartoons inspired by scenes from everyday life, Flemish folklore, and nature, in the light of the members of the group “Forces Murales”. His work, first figurative, evolved into dense vegetal subjects with sharp motifs, unfolding across geometric grounds, influenced by Cubism.
