Toffoli devoted himself extensively to tapestry with the Robert Four manufactory, starting in 1976, producing hundreds of cartoons. One finds there the painter’s own post-Cubist transparencies, as well as his subjects. Indeed, Toffoli’s tapestry does not distinguish itself from his painting: Saint-Sophia and the Bosphorus ensure the journey.
