Blue Horizon

Aubusson tapestry woven by workshop 3 for the Attali gallery.
With its bolduc, no. 1/6.
1976.

Protagonist of geometric abstraction and, as such, championed by the Denise René gallery, a major promoter of abstract tapestry (« Distances, » was woven in 1973, one of the last Cartoons to be woven at Tabard for the gallery), Morisson stands out through compositions in chromatically harmonized bands in gradations.

It is this aesthetic that prevails in our tapestry; if the A3 workshop was more distinguished for the weaving of lyrical abstracts (Alechinsky, Arthus-Bertrand, Miotte…), more conducive to technical “asides,” the scope of its productions is actually very broad: Cathelin, Malel, Lindström, Druillet….or even geometric as well, Mortensen.
