Coral sun
Aubusson tapestry woven by the Atelier Pinton.
With its bolduc signed by the artist.
c. 1960.
Fumeron created his first Cartoons (he would create more than 500) from the 1940s onward, collaborating with the Pinton workshops, before receiving numerous commissions from the State, and then participating in the decoration of the liner "France". First figurative, and influenced by Lurçat, he evolved toward abstraction, before returning to a colorful and realistic figuration from the 1980s.
Vertical warp of the branches within which fish appear, concealing a glowing red sun: all of Fumeron's inventiveness is brought together in this typical Cartoon.
