Fumeron created his first Cartoons (he would go on to make more than 500) from the 1940s onward, working with the workshops Pinton, then receiving numerous commissions from the State, before taking part in the decoration of the liner « France ». At first figurative and influenced by Lurçat, he moved toward abstraction, before returning to a colorful, realistic figuration from the 1980s.
Strangely, if the title is naturalistic, the Cartoon he made points toward abstraction, in a kind of refinement of Fumeron’s figurative Cartoons, where we can still recognize the characteristic yellow-sun circle of the artist.
