Slow approach

Aubusson tapestry woven by the Braquenié workshop.

From a long artistic career that began in the 1950s (and which would, albeit belatedly, shift mainly toward sculpture), we should note, in Julien’s case, from 1959 onward, some twenty cartoons, essentially woven by the Braquenié manufactory, in particular « le commerce extérieur », a spectacular public commission of 12 m². His style is often composed of female figures drawn (outlined in black), restrained in color and motifs, of which our cartoon is exemplary.
