The 6 words of the secret
Aubusson tapestry woven by the Atelier Pinton.

2001.
In 1987, Texier received the commission for the "Rights of Man" tapestry ensemble, for the bicentenary of the Revolution. The choice was unexpected, since the artist, then still young, had never at that time produced tapestry cartoons. It then made it possible to bring together the Aubusson workshops still in activity, the 7 tapestries in the ensemble totaling more than 130 m² woven with literal literary quotations (the tables of the declaration are reproduced exactly; the engraving from the revolutionary period) , oscillating objects, signs, texts….
Subsequently, Texier would continue to supply cartoons, both for the Manufactures Nationales (a sequence of 3 tapestries, a carpet) and for Aubusson. Our cartoon takes up the artist's plastic signs, scattered texts, and the traces specific to the artist's graphic and plastic universe, which, to quote him, are "cards where [he] introduc[es] steering elements", so that the eponymous "secret" is revealed to us.
