It was in 1953 that Jean Picart le Doux offered Chaye the opportunity to become his assistant and encouraged him to create tapestry cartoons: he would then produce numerous bucolic cartoons, but also views of Normandy (Mont Saint Michel, Honfleur, regattas,…), from which he originated.\n\nBirds and trellis coexist here in a style very close to Picart le Doux.
