The wheel

Aubusson tapestry woven by Pinton.
With his bolduc.
Circa 1970.

Perrot began his work as a painter-cartoonist after the war, creating nearly 500 Cartoons, with numerous commissions from the State, most of which were woven in Aubusson. His highly decorative and luminous style is unmistakably characteristic: a profusion of butterflies or birds, most often, stands out against a vegetal background, in the spirit of mille-fleurs tapestries (from which Dom Robert would also draw inspiration).

Kaki background, inspiration drawn from medieval mille-fleurs, teeming birds—all the elements proper to Perrot's cartons are brought together here.
